Introduction

These parenting classes are comprehensive education programs incorporating strategies to enhance parent - child relationships.  

Some topics learned in each class are: 

• Understand age-appropriate developmental behaviors
• Communicate feelings respectfully
• Set limits through family rules
• Give and receive positive recognition
• Develop empathy with children
• Develop routines for meal time, bedtime and homework
• much more

Parenting Classes

To enroll for parenting classes at the Family Resource Council, a referral MUST come from Merced County Human Services Agency.  Contact our office for more details or to request a referral form.

Nurturing Parenting Classes (English) - 16 weeks, once a week, 2 1/2 hours each

Nurturing Parenting Classes (Spanish) - 16 weeks, once a week, 2 1/2 hours each

Positive Discipline - 7 weeks, once a week, 2 hours each

Foster PRIDE and Adoption - 9-week course for 3 hours a week
